If you’re just now finding out about Lela Love Lee, honestly… you must’ve been hiding under a rock.
I’ve been outside this whole time.
Maybe you know me through a friend of a friend.
Maybe we worked together once.
Maybe we met at an event, crossed paths in the city, collaborated creatively, partied together, worked out together, golfed together, or simply followed each other online for years silently supporting from a distance.
Whatever the connection may be, welcome.
It’s never too late to get acquainted.
One thing about me is I’ve never believed in placing myself in just one box. My life has always been layered with creativity, entrepreneurship, wellness, art, music, performance, beauty, healing, community, and rebuilding myself over and over again in real time.
So for anyone wondering what exactly I have going on these days…
here’s the update.
Mermaid Life Is Back
Your girl officially stepped back into mermaid mode after being hired for another performance, and honestly, reconnecting with that world has been surprisingly healing.
What started as performance art evolved into wellness, imagination, movement, creativity, music, and childhood wonder all mixed together.
I’ve been rebuilding my fitness routine, improving my lung capacity, swimming more consistently, and creating interactive experiences for children that blend ocean education, storytelling, fantasy, and music together.
And because I always do the absolute most creatively, I’ve even started building a mermaid-inspired music project and YouTube channel to keep children engaged beyond performances.
Because honestly?
Magic still matters.
Golf, Wellness & Black Girl Leisure
Another huge part of my current lifestyle has been reconnecting with golf culture.
Not only because I genuinely enjoy the sport, but because I want to create more visible spaces for Black women within golf and luxury leisure culture here in New England.
Golf has become therapy for me in many ways.
Quiet mornings.
Fresh air.
Beautiful landscapes.
Intentional movement.
Community.
Patience.
It’s peaceful.
And honestly, Black women deserve more opportunities to experience softness, wellness, leisure, and luxury hobbies without guilt too.
Wellness Over Burnout
Lately I’ve been focusing heavily on wellness in a softer, more sustainable way.
Not punishment.
Not unrealistic perfection.
Just intentional care.
More water.
More movement.
More stretching.
More swimming.
More rest.
Less chaos.
Less stress.
Less burnout.
I’ve also become increasingly interested in adaptogens, mocktails, nervous system care, healthier living, and reducing dependency on alcohol culture while still maintaining beautiful social experiences.
Healing changes your priorities.
Entrepreneurship & Rebuilding
Now let’s be honest for a second:
entrepreneurship is not always glamorous.
Some projects work beautifully.
Others completely humble you.
I’ve experienced both.
Between rebuilding my Shopify store, reevaluating partnerships, postponing collections, budgeting more intentionally, and learning discipline financially and emotionally, this season of life has been deeply focused on rebuilding smarter instead of simply rushing forward.
And honestly?
There’s something powerful about starting over with wisdom instead of ego.
I no longer want performative success.
I want peaceful success.
Creativity Will Always Be Part of My Identity
No matter what season of life I’m in, creativity will always remain part of who I am.
Painting.
Photography.
Writing.
Music.
Cooking.
Designing.
Storytelling.
Creating immersive experiences.
Building community.
Hosting ideas that don’t exist yet.
Creativity is how I process life.
I truly believe many adults stop creating because survival mode steals their imagination. But lately, I’ve been reclaiming mine intentionally.
Because life should still feel magical sometimes.
The Soft Life Looks Different Now
The older I get, the more I realize the soft life is not really about luxury items.
It’s about peace.
Peaceful mornings.
Peaceful relationships.
Peaceful routines.
Financial discipline.
Wellness.
Boundaries.
Creative freedom.
Rest.
Healthy environments.
Intentional living.
That’s the version of softness I’m currently building.
Not perfect.
Not performative.
Real.
So… What’s Next?
Honestly?
A little bit of everything.
More wellness.
More creativity.
More healing.
More discipline.
More storytelling.
More golf.
More mermaid magic.
More intentional living.
More building quietly behind the scenes.
And if you’re just now tuning in, welcome to the journey.
Because one thing about me?
I’m always becoming something new.
