Every Squat Counts: Turning 1,500 Squats Into Heart Health

Sometimes the smallest numbers tell the biggest stories.
When I broke it down, I realized that $200 divided by 1,500 squats comes out to about 13 cents per squat. That means every single squat I complete is worth roughly 13 cents toward supporting heart health through the American Heart Association.
At first, it sounds simple just a workout challenge. But for me, this is much bigger than fitness. This is personal, purposeful, and deeply connected to the people I love most.
I’ve committed to completing 1,500 squats as part of my effort to raise $200 for the American Heart Association. That money helps fund life-saving research, education, prevention programs, and resources that support families dealing with heart disease every single day.
Every squat I push through represents more than sore legs and determination. It represents stronger hearts, longer lives, and the hope of more second chances for the people we care about most.
Heart disease touches so many families, including mine. It makes you think differently about health, prevention, and the importance of taking care of ourselves before small issues become major ones. It makes you look at your mother, your grandmother, your sisters, your aunts, and realize just how much their health matters not just to them, but to everyone who loves them.
Especially in the Black community, and particularly for Black women, proper healthcare advocacy is critical. Too often we are underserved, overlooked, or expected to simply endure instead of being heard. Prevention and awareness should not be a luxury they should be a priority.
That is why this fundraiser matters to me.
At just 13 cents per squat, this challenge turns movement into impact. Every donation, whether it is small or significant, becomes part of something meaningful. It helps create awareness. It helps fund solutions. It helps protect lives.
I’m asking for your support not just to help me hit my $200 goal, but to stand with me in supporting a cause that affects all of us in some way.
Whether you donate $5, $20, or simply share the message, you are helping turn effort into change.
And trust me—I will be earning every single squat.
